When a customer sends a purchase order.in supplier's company which department receives it and issues what kind of note to production department for that order?

Usually the sales department receives the order. If it something to be made they may issue a works order to the factory or if it is to be picked from a warehouse they would issue a picking list. Terminology does vary from Industry to industry and probably country to country, but these are the terms I am familiar with.

When I worked for a mail order company, sales would receive the purchase order and would send a "pick ticket" to the warehouse to fill the order.
