McCain is far too hawkish on Iran for me. As much as I respect the man, I do fear that he is more likely to start a pre-emptive war there. Which I think would be absolutely disastrous to a fragile yet improving Iraq. Don't forget, Iran borders Iraq, and if you're having a situation where there are military strikes against Iran, aimed at toppling the government, remember what happened in Iraq in the days after Hussein's regime fell, you had lawlessness and disorder, terrorists came out of the woodwork, building the insurgency. The same could very easily happen with Iran, I can imagine a situation where you have terrorists spreading into this landmass of Iran and Iraq, and you have a completely uncontrollable situation, a bloodbath. I have reservations about abortion but its not my top issue. Foreign policy is.

The no baby left behind act I believe it`s called. Yes it is very gruesome and barbaric. How anyone can adhere to such a practice is beyond me. But this is the slippery slope abortion has brought us to. We were assured when abortion was made legal in Roe v Wade in the 60s that abortion would be "rare" and only used for extreme cases. How many abortions are performed annually in America now? It is easily in the hundreds of thousands. So now we have this, but many people in the 60s when abortion was first made legal predicted it.

THERE WERE ONLY 15 PEOPLE WHO VOTED AGAINST IT!

When a bill almost identical to the one Barack fought in Illinois, the Born Alive Infants Protection Act, came to the floor of the U.S. Senate in 2001, the vote was 98 to 0 in favor. Barbara Boxer, the most pro-abortion member of the Senate before Barack came, spoke out on its behalf: "Of course, we believe everyone should deserve the protection of this bill. ... Who could be more vulnerable than a newborn baby? So, of course, we agree with that. ... We join with an 'aye' vote on this. I hope it will, in fact, be unanimous." Obama says he opposed the Born Alive Infants Protection Act because he feared it might imperil Roe v. Wade. But if Roe v. Wade did allow infanticide or murder, which is what letting a tiny baby die of neglect or killing it outright amounts to, why would he not want that court decision reviewed and amended to outlaw infanticide?

This will be decided by the courts, not the president or the president to be. Abortion on this level, is equal to murder. Anyway if we want change then vote for the president who will pick the right SCJ who will be more in line with your beliefs...that's what the power of the president can do.

Because he was worried about overturning Roe v. Wade. And he said that if the bill would be written so that the Roe v. Wade decision was protected he would vote for the bill. While the bill was introduced with slightly stronger wording, it still contained loopholes, that would allow for a back door attempt at overturning Roe v. Wade and that is why he voted against it. The fact is, that the bill never recieved the wording Obama said he would vote for. However, I do completely agree that children who survive an abortion and show vital signs outside of the mothers womb, are alive and deserve the protections granted to all citizens.

This is horrible...why let a fully developed living child die when there are so many people wanting to adopt babies. How could anybody do this?
