I'm considering going on a quest for self discovery and fulfilment, but I need a destination for my quest, any ideas?

I SUGGEST A TOUR OF EUROPE WITH A "DANIEL DAY-LEWIS" TWIST. STEP OUT OF THE RAT RACE FIND YOUR SELF A CLASSIC TRADE AND WORK YOUR WAY ROUND LIKE THE COMMON MAN. PERHAPS BRIONNE...A SMALL VILLAGE IN FRANCE!

Within. I don't mean to sound trite, here, I just think that the best way to find yourself is within yourself. If you find you need to get away from the distractions of your life, then by all means go and find somewhere quiet and inspirational. If you can get to someplace like Grand Canyon National Park or Sedona, AZ, those are absolutely breathtaking and stark landscapes that have inspired many spiritual awakenings! Just know that you don't necessarily have to go very far from your normal, everyday life for this; because that normal, everyday life is yours for a reason. Why not start there? Best wishes to you on this and all other undertakings you embark upon!

If you would like a real place to come to find yourself, Britain is great for that. Well, at least it was great for that, but unfortunately the 60's are over :(

I think it depends on what type of environment you want and need for your quest of self-discovery? Do you want someplace quiet for deep contemplation or someplace that requires you to interact with others perhaps creating challenges or even adversity for you to grow? Here are two options you could consider. Many monasteries, religious, and non-denomination spiritual orders allow people to come for meditation and spiritual retreats. Many do not charge fees either. There are charities that welcome people and will give them room & board in exchange for physical labour or any form of knowledge you may have. You could also try a kibbutz? The best of luck to you and May you find what it is that you are looking for.
