  • World of Warcraft.
  • You should find a hobby that you can do whether your husband is home or not. It's really not healthy if your entire life is wrapped up in your husband. If you have some interests of your own, you will be more interesting to him. Try volunteering for a cause you feel passionate about. Tutoring children, feeding the homeless, delivering meals on wheels are some examples. Or you might join a local book club or take up a sport like tennis or dance at the local gym or YWCA.
  • Have an affair, take up a new drug, get drunk, save the earth. That's just a few ideas that came to mind.
  • Play World of Warcraft or some other massive multiplayer online role-playing game... that's a good way to eat up tons of time. Also, Sid Meier's Civilization is a great time waster. Personally, I'd rather play board games with friends, but that requires other people which you may not have available most of the time. Volunteer work is a little more civic minded if that's more your speed. There are always charitable organizations looking for people: stocking supplies and goods at Goodwill, reading textbooks on tape for the blind, Big Sisters, etc. Google "volunteering" in your city and I'm sure you'll find something. Churches and other religious organizations are also great resources. Reading could also possibly eat up some of that downtime. I find non-fiction about subjects that interest me fascinating. But really, taking up any hobby will take up time: start painting, learn a musical instrument, pottery, gourmet cooking, knitting, quilting, sports, yoga, aerobics, ping-pong, computers... sky's the limit.
  • Take a long bath, sleep, do something he would roll his eyes at like shopping at the mall all day or going antiquing. You can rent some movies that you like and he thinks are lame (all women have those), try out some recipes you would like that he may not care for. Go have some fun with your girlfriends or children. I just enjoy the alone time without my s.o. when he is gone.
  • It's a great time to redecorate, paint, upholster, move furniture.
  • Mine is on the road all the time. I paint, clean walls. I have lots of animals. Get a puppy!
