  • they were out of line, and you should take this as a reminder to always lock your door...
  • yea thats kinda weird...
  • Unless the note said to lock your door to keep out the creeps, yes, they were out of line.
  • of course it could have been anyone...you are not sure it was Jehovah Witnesses.
  • you should be lucky that it was only jehovah's witnesses and not some axe murder slipping inside to kill you. do yourself a favor and keep your door locked. also, do you think they could have slipped it under a door? You believe they were jehovah's witnesses, what is your first clue?
  • YES way out of line!! well unless you dont have a letterbox
  • yes now you should lock your door and press charges
  • This sounds like the exposition to the perfect horror movie. Seriously. No offense to the religious group. That's irrelevant. Anyone with an agenda slipping anything into your house is... disturbing. Granted, leaving the door open is not the best idea. But I am sure you know now the type of accessibility you do not want!!!
  • It depends. Would they have had to open the door to get it where it was? I’ve been a full-time missionary (not Jehovah’s Witness) and we would often take a print of the Savior with our contact information on the back and slide it under the door, just in case someone happened to be interested. Of course, this was in Spain, where most everybody lives in apartments and there’s a significant gap between the floor and the bottom of the door. Most missionaries didn’t even have to bend over, as it didn’t take much practice to be able to drop the pics from waist level such that they’d simply slide under the door. So back to my original question…. Would they have had to open the door? If so, they were *totally* out of line. If not, well, that’s a judgment call.
  • They probably lsipped it under your door, if they did, then no (since they did not go in). But if they went in, you should have called the cops on them. Clearly thats trespassing. If you already ahave a relgion, and they come back again, tell them you'll listen to what they have to say if they go to your church. Chances are they'll start backpeddling and the conversation will end quickly.
  • If they came in ,yes.
  • Yeah, that is kind of lame.
  • Yes, that is trespass to enter your home without permission. They committed a crime that is very likely a felony in doing so.
  • Haven't locked my door in 20 years. Don't need to. Honest people here that would never enter my home unless there was a fire or something. Leave my keys in vehicles. Taken 6 week business trips and vacations and never found the need to lock a door. Guess the big factor is besides Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, Episcopalians, Mormons. We have a good many honest Pagans, Wikkens, Asgards and Atheists. Besides I operate on the premise that if you fear something it will happen. I fear nothing and it never happens. I am an atheist. I simply trust and believe in my neighbors who are honest regardless of their religion. Just hope no hate monger fundamentalists move in to spoil it. Or police, politicians or a dreaded lawyer or car dealer. Ech! Long as no for sale signs go up, I'm safe. (remember I said I was a volunteer sheriff officer. I didn't say I liked the others. I didn't. I worked with liars, thieves and thugs in uniform. Tried to straighten things out a bit those 32+ years. I only slowed them down a bit. The only one unpaid in the bunch too. I like making my money honestly.)
