  • It seems to me it would not be a bad idea to learn how to throw knives if a person was going to go into combat.
  • Don't put too much stock in knife throwing, if you miss, you just gave him the knife.
  • they never did it is higly in practicsl but i still gave u apoint because u are awsome
  • I doubt they ever did. In open country, the other side is usually 200 meters away when shooting starts. Modern rifles hold 30 rounds per magazine. What are the chances that both sides will run out of bullets; and if they did I'd rather hold onto my knife.
  • They have never taught knife throwing. For a few reasons. One, when you throw your knife, you just lost it. Second, the knifes that are issued are not made to be thrown. Too heavy on the back end. Combat knifes are heavy in the rear. Like our K-Bars, they're made so you can jab the bad guy and then crush his skull with the blunt end. Third, they're used more often than not as tools. Anthing from opening cans to using them as hammers.
  • The British commando Fairbairn-Sykes double bladed stilleto dagger was only used at close quarters, and the pommel end was also used as a weapon. The knife could be thrown but this was very inadvisable.
