My son may be marrying his girlfriend. I have met her once before, for 5 seconds. Her birthday is in a week and I will see her on Monday. What can/should I get her for her birthday?

You could always get her a gift card to a nice store. If they live together, you could get them an accessory for their home.

What does she need, homewise? Not something like a potholder, but pots and pans? Toaster? Baking pan? Towels? Those kinds of things. A call to your son would definitely be a help to you :)

The reason that he is popping the question is that he is leaving for DC. He will be there for 5 months and then 2 years in Ukraine. She won't move in without a ring. If they do move in, they will have duplicates of a lot of things and they want to travel light. No offense, but I feel that a gift card is just throwing money at the problem. I want a gift with some thought. Unfortunately, I don't know her at all.
