I'm sort of thinking of an Ergonomist, but that's not quite it perhaps.

You could try an 'information designer'. It's what I do and the job is to make information easier for people to understand.

I believe a cryptographist is the same as a cryptographer, one who decodes and develops cryptographic systems.

Good try, but I 'think' there's a more technical word.
.
For example, If I wanted to make a complex subway map easy to follow, even with hundreds of stops crossing over, I would call in a "who."
