I eat with a fork, spoon, and knife - sometimes just my fingers Sometimes I use chopsticks, but generally only when I'm at a Chinese restuarant. Usually, I try to eat three times a day. Sometimes I'm too busy for breakfast, though.

Seriously, though, that's like asking what Christians eat with. It all depends on the culture of the Buddhist person. I'm a pretty normal American gal, so I eat like an American.

One of the charming things about Buddhism is that it has historically adapted to local social customs rather than demanding that local customs change for it.

Buddhists eat with what's available. Buddhism is nothing if not pragmatic.

I eat as often as necessary to nurture and care for my body. No more, no less....the Middle Way of nutrition.

Parenthetically, a meditation on what defines the "start" and "finish" of the act of "eating" in order to answer the "how many times" question might lead to fruitful insight.
