I do. My mom taught me when I was 10.
-
yup, I do.
-
Yup I can do that. :)
-
i can actually stitch pretty nice with a thread and a needle...
-
Yep, it looks terribly uneven though.

I'm like "Someguy" ... my Mom taught me everything when I could somehow manage to do them, (for instance, I used to stand in a chair, next to the stove, and make white gravy). Yes, terribly unsafe ... but, back then, it never crossed our minds. I was happy she was teaching me! I could cook full meals by the time I was 6. I learned to sew (just buttons, small rips and tears, etc.), shortly after. I had to wait a year or so, on the ironing, because the 3rd time I ironed shirts, I also ironed my entire left thumb! Still have the scar!

I can sew the fields.
-
No, though I can weave a web of lies.
-
i once made my own hacky-sack... i suppose if it came down to it i could stitch a few things together but i can't do anything fancy
-
Yes -- I was forced to learn some basics back in my Elementary school in Russia, and have since added to my knowledge enough to sew some clothes and bags. Unfortunately, I only know how to sew by hand -- sewing machines confuse me horribly. :(
-
Yes.
-
i sew quite well, made kites for years most out of nylon - largest one was 25' long
-
Not exactly
-
No i cant sew for toffee:-)
-
Yes, but only by hand. i wouldn't know how to start sewing with a machine although it would be a good thing to learn in the future.
-
I thought I did until a friend told me it looked like I sewed my dress with a hot needle ;)
-
Yep use to make my kids cloths (they looked a little funny) But they were all covered up. :)
-
I can sew, but not too good.
-
Yes I do. My grandmother taught me.
-
Yes,I was brought up with three sisters,I didn't have a lot of choice....but I did draw the line at modeling the dresses.
-
No but I really wish I had that talent. When I go into stores that carry beautiful fabrics I imagine decorating in deep sumptuous materials. Maybe I'll take some lessons in the near future. Why Not?
-
Yes, I can, thanks to the patience of my friends. :-D
-
Not very well, I'm afraid. Enough to mend a small tear or reattatch a button
-
LOL...do I know how to sew! Just a bit...lol!!! :D
-
I'm so so at that.
-
Nope. I should probably learn.
-
... sew, embroider, knit, crochet, darn, & weave ... yes ... and I know my mountaineering rope knots too.
-
I learned how to sew in school, but I have since forgotten. I need to relearn, and have somebody show me.
-
I did do sewing at school but I was terrible. Apart from sewing on buttons I never did anything with a needle except cross stitch until I was in my forties. Now I can sew by hand and with a sewing machine.
-
Yes :)
-
Sewing machines give me a migraine :/ I can hand sew but of course that only entails mending. I could never hand sew and entire outfit.

Never wanting to copy anyone, I taught myself to sew at an early age. When my nieces were very young, I made almost everything for them from PJ's to snow suits. I've always tried to put a creative spin on what ever I made. Using unusual patterned fabric to changing up a simple pattern into something really different. If you are planning to learn or already know how to sew, have a wonderful time and always try new things.
-
No:(
-
Yes I do. My mother taught me to sew when I was in grade school. I made my own clothes from around 6th grade on. I also made custom drapes with my mother for a few years. Now, I still sew and make a few extra dollars here and there.

I can put in a zipper and do straight sewing (like sewing quilt squares together). But try to read a pattern? Last time, I ended up very frustrated. I think it was a Butterick pattern and I bit off more than I could chew. My mom was a great seamstress and she never read pattern instructions, just looked at the diagrams. Also, the tension is messed up on my sewing machine. It's a Sears Kenmore and the tension has never worked right. It pulls the fabric down into the bobbin case or the bobbin thread gets tangled in the bobbin case, or something else. Arrrgh.

YES
