I volunteered my weekends in the late 80's at both an aircraft museum and a missile museum. Both jobs were taking people on tours and answering questions. When I married, my husband joined me and shared his knowledge as well, even though his missile wasn't featured. (it was classified at the time) It was a way to explain to people why they were needed, what they were for and that their only function wasn't for war. AND- it was good excersize. It was an enjoyable experience to connect with others who had similar interests.
