Y cant i keep my aquarium water clear for longer than 4 days?

What's your filter? What kind of water (salty, fresh, warm, cold). Have you any aquatic plants? They take up nutrients within the water in order to grow, and have a positive effect on the water quality. Do you have snails in there? They're pretty good at cleaning the glass.

Is it a new aquarium setup? If it is and your problem is cloudy water that is actually something that is needed in your tank. Every tank needs a healthy bacteria growth (believe it or not). If that sounds like the problem just leave it alone for a while and it should clear itself up when the bacteria levels off and stabilizes.
