No. The members(or @ least the singer) is the exact opposite of that. Sometimes the themes of the songs have nothing to do w/ the band. And btw, AC/DC stands for Alternating Current/Direct Current. The original singer(Angus) got it from his sister Margaret's sewing machine.

Watch the documentary Hells Bells. They concoct several insane theories and introduce unknown black metal bands to it's viewers and in the end it still manages to teach a worthwhile lesson. Those kooky Christians.
    Blame the Goons.

No. their music is about having a good time regardless of the consequences. that is exactly what the song highway to hell is about.
they are saying we are on the highway to hell because of what they do but they are just having a good time and if thats wrong they are willing to face the consequences.

No, they are not. Their name means 'Alternate Current / Direct Current'. See here:

    http://experts.about.com/q/AC-DC-369/AC-DC.htm

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC/DC#Name

And even though I have not listened to any of their music, I have heard that it isn't horrible. So they may sing about hell, but I doubt they are a devil-worshipper band.

Not in any way are they devil worshipping. No one in the band past or present worship the devil.

They don't condone satanism and they come from a part of my home town where Christianity is the norm.

I can't stand it when someone says "Rock music is all about satan." It isn't true. I am sure there are bands whom worship satan, but it isn't AC/DC. AC/DC stands for nothing to Angus, Malcolm, etc. Sure the wall-plug stands for something, but not to them.

A little comment on the first answer; The original singer (to my belief) is Bon Scott, and he didn't come up with AC/DC. Angus and Malcolm Young did. They saw it on the back of their sister Margaret's sewing machine.

Just so everyone knows this as well, Black Sabbath are not devil worshipers. If you would actually listen to their music, and not run around starting rumors about rock n' roll (rock), you would find that their music is all about love.

What really makes me mad about all these rumors about rock being a devil genre is that they never have any negative things to say about rap. Their is a rap band with the name "Three (3) Six Mafia", and it isn't a devil genre? All rap talks about is being the hardest dude around. I can't stand to listen to rap, except for Tupac (I know I hate rap, but like Tupac is kind of weird), Beastie Boys, etc.

I heard that ACDC stands for Anti Christ Devil Children. If it's true, then you know the answer. You'd better not tell me what's in the name. Would you call yourself or your kid Crappy A_s or S_ _ t ?
Just examples of course, Please, don't take it personally.

Another way to recognize it is from the theme of the songs.

Just saw AC/DC last night in K.C. The had Devil horns for sale,666 on the the video screen and say the word Devil or hell in alot of there songs. They are and always have been a great rock and roll band. Why can't they just leave it at that. I don't know why they push all that devil stuff, it NOT cool and I believe God will hold them responsiable for promoting it. Rock and roll is cool, the Devil is not!I think Angus and CO. need to start thinking about who they want to spend eternity with. They are a great rock band and do not need the devil stuff to sell albums, they choose to. Whats up with that? Good luck Angus, you are being fooled. John B.

Then how do you explain that two of their best known songs are about hell? I don't buy the theory that "they are saying we are on the highway to hell because of what they do but they are just having a good time and if thats wrong they are willing to face the consequences". That's pretty compelling. Then there's the lyrics in Hell's Bells, "I'm gonna take you to hell...Satan get you". If at least a couple of them aren't somewhat Satanist, how do you explain this stuff?

The deeply religious call every metal or rock band devil-worshippers. They love to start these rumors. They say KISS stands for Knights In Satan's Service. It's all a joke.

AC/DC stands for All Cats Die Cruely. I learned of this because i met Bon Scott, and he had this perty little kitty cat, and it got hit by a car. He devoted his entire career to his kitty, and started singing about his cat. That is why you hear alot of meows in the background. That cat was his life!!!

I think the "devil worshipers band" concept is all a trick in order to call attention, get free media exposure and attract the kind of young people who love to get into anything older men and women find offensive. They ride on the devil's back in order to get free publicity.

No, but the metal music image was one of notoriety, so I think they encouraged the rumours because it gave them that added marketing, but weren't really.
