  • Yes, this is puppy mill "hooy"! White German Shepherd Dogs are not even recognized by the AKC! How do I know this...I am a member and I have three registered Black German Shepherd Dogs!! As far as I know they wont even register White German Shepherd Dogs. Be very careful...they may make good pets but "any" dog breeder can ger "registration" papers from the AKC if they are members...all they have to do it request "more" puppy certificates than they have new born puppies and they can use these for "any" dogs!!! Pure bred or not! You should ask for a Lot of references from this breeder. I'm not saying these puppy's are bad dogs...they are just not accepted by the AKC. I have heard members refer to the White German Shepherd Dogs as Mutants!! I think they are pretty but that is up to you what you want to do. I would want to see the mother and father of these puppies and if you can't, then I would not buy a puppy, if one parent is not available then there is usually a problem of some sort. This is what the AKC teaches along with reputable dog breeders!! I do not breed GSD's but I have shown and bred White Bull Terriers and even had one at Stud. It is very easy to get ripped off by a dog breeder!! I hope I have been able to give you a little bit of help!
  • White German Shepherds may be AKC registered, as are mine. They can compete in any AKC competition, such as agility, obedience, but not conformation. White is a disqualifying color for conformation. My dogs are also registered with the UKC, the United Kennel Club - a US club which recognizes many other rare breeds. My dogs are conformation champions with UKC, as well as registered German Shepherds with AKC.
  • The AKC doesn't disqualify them as a purebred dog. They can be registered. But they can't be shown in the conformation ring since white is a disqualification. It's no different than any other disqualification. You could have a male dog with one testicle or a spayed dog and they too can't compete in the conformation ring. But they can be shown in performance type events.
