  • i think most people enjoy being happy. i think that most people are afraid of success, settling for the mediocre that doesn't challenge them, their stamina, their belief systems ...
  • 85% of our thoughts on a daily basis are negative thoughts; conscious and subconscious. It is up to you to weed out the bad from the good.
  • We fear uncertainty. Most of us would rather play it safe (and stay miserable) than risk something then fail... and become even more miserable.
  • There are various grades of misery and I suppose they are content with wallowing in their current level of misery and not risk becoming more miserable if it meant a chance at becoming happier.
  • Most people are stuck in the comfort zone because they are familiar with it and know what to expect from it. It takes a lot of energy to risk something - on something that may or may not happen. If miserable people are really unhappy in their situation, they will want a change, so I believe that they are getting "something" out of being miserable, whether it be a sense of familarity, not letting go of who they "know" they are, or it could simply mean that they are not really that miserable. • I think many people are addicted to drama and the attention they get from it. Happy is not very dramatic. So people continue on in misery to satisfy there need for drama.
