  • The county can trim it away from the light IF the light is truly public property. (Our streetlights are not in my HOA). You should also be a good neighbor and trim your tree if it is bothering your neighbor. Your neighbor can legally trim anything on their own property, but it really IS your responsibility to make sure your tree doesn't become a nuisance.)
  • Every HOA rules vary so if they are telling you to you probably should. If the tree is one your property it is probably your responsibility. They will fine you if you don't. I hate those things.
