  • I don't understand why anyone would insult or attack the mentally ill in the first place. So I can't answer that. Total ignorance.
  • There is an AB mentally ill section??? I didn't know we had them seperate from the rest of us. Do we also have disability sections, mentally challenged sections and high I.Q/gifted sections??? If this is true. I'm going to boycott this website.
  • Trolling? Some people apparently trying to make themselves feel better about themselves? Unacceptable behavior, as far as I'm concerned. Believe it or not, we ALL have a mental flaw/defect in one way or another. Anyone who says they don't, can't face the truth.
  • Because only someone that is mentally ill would attack people who can't help or protect themselves, who seem defenseless and less than they do.
  • I don't think that is a very nice thing to do. However, I really think targeted questions like this about another ABer does little to solve the problem. If you see bad behavior by another AB user, just report it to a CL or AB-Staff. That is the best way to resolve this. Not that I think anyone who would do that is a stellar addition to AB, but. . . in the past I have seen this type of question spark a feud between the target (for lack of a better word) and the asker and it's not pretty.
  • Some people liked websites to attack and destroy other people's feelings because websites are anonymous. They just don't care. I think that its just BS. I don't come to this site because of the trolling and the insults. I had to change my avatar and my name to Anonymous.
  • Because they have a bigger problem than the people who have mental problems. Everyone has some kind of flaw and apparently this person is sadistic.
  • Perhaps because they're mentally ill themselves...
  • Because they are mean and looking for a fight.
  • Various reasons. Some may be mentally ill themselves. Some may have relatives who are (or were) mentally ill, and this is a way of finding out and of venting. Some just think its fun to attack people of all types. Some could POSSIBLY be studying mental health, and be attacking to get the reactions. And, some may be inflicting pain or consternation on other ABers by asking questions associated with them and/or their real or perceived illness. Those WITH stated, obvious, or possible mental problems will see these questions as attacks on themselves, but the questions are innocuous as far as everyone else is concerned. These users should pay attention to the time-stamps - In some cases, the questions may have been asked before they became members - not meant for THEM... Of course, they COULD have been meant for former members. And, of course, when questions are asked, and those believing them to be attacks attack back, THEY are usually the ones who get into trouble. In all cases, those seriously asking or answering about mental illnesses are usually vulnerable to attack, be it real or imagined.
  • They're masochists?! ;-)
  • They are mentally ill.
  • I've noticed the same thing with Evangelicals baiting atheists. Some seem absolutely obsessed with some folks' lack of belief; as if their whole worldview would crumble unless everyone agrees with them! ;-)
