Unfortunately, most Americans simply listen to what their favorite TV anchor says without checking the facts, so our country is mostly run by the politicians who can put on a good show. We have become such a shallow nation. It's sad:(

People who don't read, or not as smart (typically), can't write as well (papers, reports, so on), and can't spell as well. There is always an exception, but I believe that the more you read the more intelligent you are.
