Most likely not, Just as with buying a new model year car I would rather wait until the bugs are out of it. Right now I run Windows 2000 Professional and it has never given me any problems.

Nope, my PC works fine as it is. Why fix something that works? Even if it's free, I wouldn't bother. I can do all the things I want with my PC, so I don't need extra functions either. And especially, I don't want to learn everything all over again; I just became used to XP...
-
I will get OS X Leopard when that comes out. I can hardly wait. Vista will be nice, but I think that all the flashy graphics will slow down the system. I hope they can be disabled like in XP.
-
I really don't want to, if just because it will have so much eye candy that it will tax my hardware much more than XP does. Although I have heard that Vista will be able to do more graphically with less computer power than XP could, but I'll believe it when I see it. The thing Vista will really suck at for the first 6 months is security holes and other bugs. Best to wait for SP1, then give it a try. Or wait for the miriad of articles that will tell you how good or bad it is. For now, I'm not interested - especially for the price.
-
I will be waiting for SP1 to be released. I remember I did that when XP first came out. XP had lots of issues with printer and scanner compatibility, and I'm expecting something similar with Vista.
-
Not with my current machine, it doesn't even meet minimum requirements. And my next upgrade is going to be a Mac Core2 Duo, so I'll probably be getting OS X Leopard. I know that since Apple starting using Intel processors Macs can run WinXP through their BootCamp interface, and that it actually clocks faster than native on a PC. If there is a BootCamp type client for Vista when it comes out then I probably will get it.

Nope, I'm more of a mac person. I might save up for a new macbook, and that will come with the new OSX leopard. This last summer I actually built a new windows box running XP for my parents. I wouldn't get VISTA for it. XP works fine as it is and my parents are finally learning how it works. Getting a brand new OS would confuse them. :)

I agree with everyone here. Over the past few years, I've learning never to go with the "new stuff". There are always issues. For example software compatibility etc... Its always a better idea to wait a few months and see how its deployment is going. Besides, prices usually also tend to go down...so why bother to pay for the premium?
-
yep, I want to test it, but not more :)
-
No. Apart from the fact that it'll be full of holes for the next three years.. ;-) ..The new license is also even more bogus than it already was under XP. That coupled with yet more required power, more bloatware, more restrictions on what I can and cannot do... I'm currently just waiting for a linux distribution which is sufficiently desktop ready that it will allow me to move to linux. My current best bet is either Fedora or Ubuntu. I just need some changes to the xwindows system (which were already announced) that should make it a much better to configure and much more stable. It will probably be Ubuntu and KDE using the new XFree.

Hell NO! All Microsoft wants is for people to get pissed off by making thier computers crash and taking thier valuable stuff with it. Also, another reason i'm not going to use it is becuase there are alot of bugs in internet explorer still and Microsoft is too dumb to notice them. And BTW, who would want to wait several hours just to install a shitty browser anyway? I don't really care what system i'm using as long as it still works fine. If anyone is smart enough they' would click the links below... and for the people who rate this down, i don't give... http://www.ubuntu.com http://www.apple.com/macosx

No i will not, microsoft always releases their stuff before they have actually checked properly for bugs. Also, when vista comes out leopard will be out, or just about to come out, so i will switching to mac - something that works properly.
-
Not just no, but HELL NO!!!!!! Personal rule; never trust any release before xx.2
-
I will not get it because if I did I would have to get a new computer. If I tried to install it myself I would probably mess something up. The next computer I will be getting is an Imac with mac osx

S I AM USING...

My friend tested it, and it was absolutely crap. We shall stay on XP Pro.
