You're reading Have you walked out into the street in front of your house to see if your house number is visible DAY and NIGHT? If you were having a heart attack, could emergency personnel find you in time?

It doesn't cost very much to make them better than what they are. Reflective paint, could work, too, so that when headlights hit them, they luminesce. I would hate to see you die for something as stupid as that, B. Isn't there anything you can do??

Technically, it's my landlord's responsibility... so if she isn't going to pay to make sure the emergency vehicles can find me... then I may just have to die for the sake of the principle of it. LOL!

Boy - talk about dying for your principles! Okay, B. I hear ya. Not another peep about this from me :))

hahahaha. I really am not expecting to have a heart attack any time soon. :D

Oh, silly. It wawsn't just about heart attacks. It could be for ANY reason.

From my own experience, it could just be why your pizza shows up late. But it could also contribute to a neighbor keeling over and not getting help too. My house is the only one in my entire neighborhood with visible numbers. I've had to call 911 twice in the last year for a neighbor who fell. One time she had a seriously broken arm. The ambulance stopped way down the block, trying to get oriented in a neighborhood with no numbers. I had to run down the middle of the street waving my arms to get their attention.

Wow, I never thought about it like that. Honestly, I have two dogs that bark like a doorbell whenever anyone is near the front. So, I never have a problem with delivery drivers. Otherwise, I guess I don't really think of emergencies. I suppose it's good to keep this stuff in mind. Thanks for passing along the info, Anonymous!

No problem! I used to be a delivery driver and this has weighed heavily on my mind ever since. Phillis is a paramedic, so we got together on this. We want to be civic-minded ABers and do what we can to raise awareness and save lives.
