Well I delivered our last baby. Hope this helps.
-
I would rate myself at an 8.
-
pretty decent as far as first aid knowledge, but my ability to actually call 911 instead of standing there staring is unparalleled.
-
on a scale of 1 to 10?
-
In my house I'm the one that handles them (and with 3 boys, we have had them) I can remain very calm during the emergency, but when it is over, I tend to break down. My husband however cannot handle the emergency, but is there to be my rock afterwards.
-
Very high on the scale. I am more calm and focused when a medical emergency pops up then I am normally.
-
I would have to rate myself pretty high. It is my job to answer the 911 phone.
-
Well I just performed emergency open heart surgery, but I credit staying at a Holiday Inn Express for that :) Nah, but seriously...about a B+
-
AHHHHHHRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!! RUN AWAYYYYYY!!! No actually, I'm a qualified first-aider, but I always try and leave it to a more qualified person... like a surgeon!
-
I'd give myself an A, I worked in a school health office for years, we had emergencies everyday!
-
I give myself a +6 - lol. I have been in a few situations that required swift action, and I consistently stepped up to the plate and got the job done without panicking.
-
Being a first responder and a firefighter, I'd rate 7 of 10
-
I get an "A." I had to race my daughter to the ER several times (twice for broken arms, many times for asthma attacks). I also had to take my husband to the ER. I always kept my cool.
-
super good. once i held this guys foot closed at a party because he drunkenly sliced it open on glass.
-
I handle myself pretty well, unless it's my own blood and I'm alone then I about freak out.
-
... sudden severe diseases, not too good ... but for injuries, excellent ... I spent 11 years doing industrial first aid with my own ambulance.
-
I am great as long as it is not me in the medical emergency. I saw a man get hit on a motorcycle, stopped help him, got emergency services and he was fine. The fact that he was missing the skin off of half his body and was trying to get up and leave was very stressful. He was also talking about how much trouble he was going to be in when he doesn't get to his girlfriends house on time etc. Took a lot of work to keep him put until emergency services arrived. If that person with all the missing skin was a relative, I think I might have freaked out.
-
I rate myself 8 out of 10 because I can handle emergency situations pretty well! I have to most of the time cause when someone in my family gets hurt everyone begains screaming and losing control! I usually stay very calm because screaming like my family does only makes everything worse!
-
I'd say an 8. I'm pretty good with my medical knowledge and keep a cool head. Thankfully this hasn't been tested too very often!
-
I almost passed out from the sight of that hang nail.....is this for recruits for EMTs?
-
Being the wife and I both physicians, we are very good we keep a cool head and very focused. Cheers to you.
-
Terrible. I faint at the sight of too much blood:(
-
Very well. If any falling apart needs to be done I wait until the crisis has passed. :)
-
Very well. I managed to get my husband to hospital after the motorcycle accident. I was even able to keep him from going into shock. I have also dealt with numerous meat department knife mishaps without any problems. (tip: Do not try to catch a knife if you drop it, just jump out of the way and let it fall. They never learn until after trying to catch it once.))
-
About a 6 on a scale of 1-10. If there's a lot of blood that number drops to about 2.
-
A+ I am a er nurse
-
About a B+ we had to do a safety and health course in college and I am really grateful for it now :)
-
Well I think I'd be able to give a good amount of help as a first aider and also a nurse I could help ya out! Its all about staying calm in the situation as well which im pretty good at. Remembering your basic ABC helps :)
-
Expert indeed Paramedic for 20+ years

Im an EMT. It is in my blood to do what I do everyday. Answering the 911 lines does not mean you are good at handling medical emergencies, it just means you know how to locate and dispatch the nearest EMS personnel. I have dispatchers that will send basic life support to an advanced life support call because they don't know what's really needed. Though Im glad for the dispatchers answering the calls and getting someone there.
-
oh no. I cut off my head.. where is that phone so I can call 911.. LOL. actually I went to EMT and nursing school so I am pretty good UNLESS it's me that's bleeding, then i tend to panic some.
