  • The answer to this question depends on your BIOS. Check the manual that came with your computer for information, or look in the BIOS setup screen (usually accessed by pressing some function key at the beginning of the boot sequence) to see what options you can set regarding boot order. If I had to take a guess without knowing anything about your particular computer, I'd say that you probably can't boot from an external drive. But you might as well take a look. Just don't do anything drastic until you find out a definitive answer.
