I think I once owned a pair of Keds; I think they had a white, rubber circle that usually fitted over the ankle bone. Keds are still available: http://www.keds.com/?kwid=G_us_keds PF Flyers are also still available: http://www.shoemall.com/keycode.cmd?catalogKeyCode=SMKE272&dest=catalog/search.jsp?N=4294965912+4294967278 I remember seeing commercials for Keds and Flyers when I was watching Cartoon Carousel in the 50's. Do you have any in your basement, Ed?

I never wore tennis shoes as a kid..not until I was a grownup. They had what were called "deck" shoes..I remember getting a pair of those first. But as a kid it was regular leather shoes in the winter and sandals in the summer! :)Happy Monday! :) ((hugs))

My parents used to buy me PF Flyers in the 1950's when I was growing up. They were 'hightops' and they were always black. When I got a new pair, I always thought I could jump higher, run faster, etc. I haven't seen them in stores for a long time, although I see that others have noted websites where you can buy them.
