    RAM can reach a point of diminishing returns; most games can run fine on 1GB and really well on 2GB. Beyond that point, you're usually better off upgrading your video card though. What makes you sure that RAM is your issue? What is your CPU? What sort of video card? Putting 4GB of RAM into my old Dell with it's 1.8GHz P4 and integrated graphics wouldn't make it run games faster than it does.
