In my wife's situation, she doesn't hurt much, unless a cyst ruptures. She's only 26. We still want to have more children. She does have to take medication to regulate her periods. So, I guess I'm posing a new question back to you... Where does this woman stand with all of these points?
  • No, a hysterectomy is the removal of the uterus. She could get an oopherectomy(removal of the ovaries), but would go into imediate menopause. The ovaries produce hormones, so she would need hormone replacement. There are other hormonal treatments to help, and surgery to remove the cysts is an option.
