i believe the death penalty should be in these cases.for children and adult rapists. anybody who does this to a person should be considered the lowest of all and be killed immediately.

To begin with please take into consideration that child rapists are included in the large denomination of Child Molesters – Violent Offenders. These individuals have a condition which is not physical but emotional, thus the possibility of good results due to counseling are very poor not to say impossible. Enclosed are some statistics about the inmates actually in Federal and State prisons. [WARNING: Long answer] Comparing Federal and State prison inmates Federal inmates were more likely than State inmates to be: - Age 45 or older (24% vs. 13%) - With some college education (18% vs. 11%) - Non citizens (18% vs. 5%) About 10% of Federal inmates and 49% of State inmates were in prison for a violent offense [Child Molesters and murderers included]. Violent offenders accounted for 53% of the total growth in State prisons. Child victimizers Approximately 4,300 child molesters were released from prisons in 15 States in 1994. An estimated 3.3% of these 4,300 were rearrested for another sex crime against a child within 3 years of release from prison. Too many have not been caught. Among child molesters released from prison in 1994, 60% had been in prison for molesting a child 13 or younger. Offenders who had victimized a child were on average 5 years older than the violent offenders who had committed their crimes against adults. Nearly 25% of child victimizers were age 40 or older. It has been proved by psychiatrists that Child Molesters though treated will return to prison for the same or worse offense against a child between 3/7 years after they have been released from prison. Their offense can not be cured as by the time they commit their first offense against a child they are already grown adults who at some stage in their early lives have suffered some type of child abuse or have been raped while in prison for other violent crimes. 1] I hope it is now clear that counseling will not solve the problem, thus counseling should be discarded. 2] If these Child Offenders are sterilized in which ever fashion is deemed convenient, it will not stop them from committing the same crime over and over again as their sexual urge for children is not related to a physical condition but to an emotional or mental one. They do not need their penis and sexual desire for a child due to arousal as their minds, feelings, fingers or any other tool will be enough to hurt another child and thus satisfy their urges. 3] I ignore if these offenders have ever received electro shock to numb their feelings and mental capability, in other words to leave them as zombies but in the care of medical correctional institutions. Meaning they will live in those conditions and institutions for the rest of their lives. 4] I don’t have an alternative for these offenders unless they are sentenced to death. Should death be the case it would be necessary to prove that they have an average IQ and are thus mentally capable and can not in any way be considered mentally retarded, I repeat they should have an average IQ to be held accountable for the actions. I am doing a report on this subject for college, where did you get your statistics from? Personally I think child rapists should be CASTRATED and isolated to some island far far away, where we just drop food to them, just enough to keep them alive. I don't even have any kids but I have a nephew, and God help me I would torture and kill someone (and I can't even stomach torture scenes on the tv, but I would rip off fingernails). I have to seriously pray for my feelings of wanting so bad to get revenge. Because God says, leave vengence up to me. He mentions specifically that the punishment will be so great for those people that hurt children it would be better if they tied a weight around their neck and droped it in the deepest part of the ocean. But until that happens we do have to find a way to punish them, and since everyone gets kinda wierd when the death penalty is mentioned, why not castration and isolation? They should have no rights WHATSOEVER!

Bury them up to their neck during low tide at the beach! This is a sickness that unfortunately does not seem to have a cure. This has been proven time and time again!
