When you get to a certain round of a tournament you recieve points. You must get to that round again or futher or else you will lose the points earned from the previous year. My guess he withdrew from a round which he won last year, and thus was not able to defend his points
In almost every individual sport (golf, boxing, etc) the winner raises his/her arms in triumph upon winning. But in tennis, the winner descends to knees or back more often than not. Why?

You're reading Can anybody tell me why Andy Murray has lost 75 ranking points this week? Indianapolis, where he withdrew, has been counted as one of his best 5 tournaments. Is this a penalty for late withdrawal or something like that?
