  • Hello, unfortunately the problem that you described is either a crack on the inside of your screen, the screen electronics have a malfunction, or an electrical short circuit. In either case it will not go away. If your computer is still under warranty, give the manufacturer a call, if not, you will pay out of pocket, sorry.
  • It could very well be the power inverter for the display is going bad. Or wires are frayed/pinched to the display. Or the plug for the display has become unseated. You can open it up and check on the last few things or take it in for service to have this done. Sometimes pressing gently on the sides around the display or just above the keyboard section will make the line move or leave. This usually means an inverter or cabling issue. A thin yellow line down the side of your screen probably isn't a crack if it's a perfect row of pixels straight down.
