Male condoms are cheaper and better. But my own belief is that if the intent is disease protection, actual trust is better. Everything you can get from intercourse you can also get from kissing. As to birth control there seems better methods. My thought for myself is that if I need a condom I shouldn't do it. But, I handled birth control with a vascetomy so took responsibility myself rather dumping it on women.
