I'm the same age as you but I've been playing softball sense i've been able to crawle. According to ma dad (the coach) I'm the best player cuz i can play any position including pitcher. If theres a certain position you want to play then work for it. Just keep doing drills like catching pop-ups or working on grounders and then just work up. And at a tryout make yourself notice infront of the coaches, that'll help you make a team.

you could locate a batting cage business. a machine trows pitches to you. you can catch the ball or try and hit it. it is a great way to get better and gain upper body strength. some running and some upper body training would help . like lifting weights.

use the batting cage, use a hitaway, use a weighted bat to work on speed, practice running drills, work on turning and running to catch a ball hit over your head. Also, work on line drives, weird hit grounders(hops), and pop flys. Lastly, to work on running the bases, where to curve to get a double etc. and to work on throwing, take a squishy ball and throw it as hard as you can against a gym wall. Eventually, the form and consistency (aim) will come with it.

nothing wrong with being an outfielder. im 15 and a freshman on the varsity team. outfield is good postion. im center and im captain of the outfield. batting cages and pitching machines are very good practice. running bases and practice sliding. practice bunting and get a weighted bat it helps with your bat speed. lifting weights gets upper body strenghth which really is good for this sport. have someone throw grounders, pop-ups, line drives, balls that go over your head. good luck
