I'm not a doctor, just a person who has always been terrified and amazed by spiders since childhood. But, I do know that there are antivenom treatments available for recluse spiders. BUT, those treatments may be dangerous to some people, in some cases worse than the bite itself. So, if I were you, I would hold off for now and see if the itching gets better. You may find this article useful: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spider_bite#Necrotic_bites I hope your daughter is already feeling better. I just joined this forum today or I would have answered you sooner. If she is still itchy without other symptoms, it may be that the bite is healing on its own. Some over-the-counter treatments that helped when I had hives really bad were Benadryl tablets and Aveeno oatmeal bath packets.

You might want to do some research on doctors that specialize in this type of bite. I had a friend whose then four-year-old had a brown recluse bite on her butt more than twenty years ago. The skin actually died in about a 4" diameter area around the bite and as I recall, she had to have a skin graft after the venom had stopped working. Brown Recluse bites are pretty nasty things. I found a pretty good article on Brown Recluse bites and their treatment. http://www.emedicinehealth.com/spider_bite_brown_recluse_spider_bite/article_em.htm
