Are there songs composed by very well-known singers that are sung about people who THEY know that aren't known to many other people at all? (in other words, songs made by famous singers about common, inconsequential people they know?)

Songs written are stories told. Most songs that mean anything or amount to anything are written out of our own experience in the world, and that includes our interface with others. I'm sure this is no different with good singers/songwriters as well. The one who lives on an island by him or herself doesn't have very much meaningful to say, or so it seems to me. But NOBODY is inconsequential, my friend...trust me on that.
