The watchword of some individuals is 'moderation in all things'. Maybe Answerbag's multiplicity of categories is their happy hunting ground for things to moderate and garner points from. I think there are lots of motives for being here, not necessarily anything to do with points. Most of them hover around need for company and human interaction - some, perhaps specifically at arms length, some are curious about what makes people tick, some are searching for information or guidance through the experiences of others. Basically, I suggest that positive motivation far outweighs the bad. Any rat-bags or mental defectives who find Answerbag probably don't linger long. The attention span of types like that is probably nothing to write home about either. There is a chance to make a small contribution here, raise a smile or two perhaps, impart some useful information, gather some for yourself, that's the attraction.

There was one person who made Maestro and never answered a question or gave an answer to a question but I think it was just the one person.

yes, probably there are or were some. They usually get bored and move on, or start answering questions, since they just can't help themselves.

Suprises the devil out of me. I have less than 100 moderation points and got to level 55 so far since March 9, 08. I'm more interested in answering questions since I don't ask very many and don't have that many points for asking either.

I knew of an ABer who gained most of his points that way. I was told he was PB'ed once for too many rejected flags. I don't believe that ABer is still active.

Oh, I'm sure of it. Maybe that's something that should be capped before it gets abused.

There have been a couple of people like that. One had only a 2-3,000 points in answers but over 40,000 in moderation. We never saw him on here, just his going up the leaderboard. But he hasn't been back in almost a year now.

Some people get most of there points from moderaton, you can just type in curses in the top box...not that i do that
