1995 Grand Cherokee Limited's rear disc brakes squeak when slightly pressing brake pedal & stops when not using brake. Hard braking there's no squeak. What could cause this?

    There are wear indicators on brake pads that cause a sqealing sound to let you know it is time to change brake pads. These will often become quiet under hard braking conditions. Suggest you have your brakes checked soon. This is not the area you want to take chances with.

    Another possibility if your pads are good is that your rotors may be warped. The warpage under light braking allows the pads to move excessively in the caliper hardware creating the squeal.

    I found out that there are 2 sets of rear brakes on that jeep one set of pads outside and a set of shoes on the inside, it shocked me, Ciao declan
