Freedom... your asking about freedom for criminals? In my opinion too many dont go to jail. Laws are made in response to a problem, obviously the problem is freedom to do as one wishes without thinking about consequences. I dont think freedom has anything to do with this.

Sure is. After all, we are all 100% free to decide not to committ the crimes that send us to prison. Also, if you don't like the rules that most free Americans help to establish, you are surely free to find a country that fits your needs and deefinition of freedom better. So, by your conclusion, you'd rather live in a country with the least amount of prisons and laws. Not sure where that may be, but good luck, you are free to search and move when you find such a place.

Well, more laws doesn't really mean less freedom....there could be one, single law that states "The dictator owns your soul," and the fact that that's the only law wouldn't mean you're more free than a country with more than one law.

Yes it is. For those of us who choose not to commit crimes.

Yes it is. We have the freedom to pay for, build , support, protect our prison system though. I'd prefer to spend that tax money elsewhere & streamline the death penalty system, like in some Communist countries. For certain crimes and given DNA technology, we could minimize the prison population quickly.
