    Divide it into 8 triangles, and find the area of one of them. Times 8.

    For a regular octagon, use this equation with t being the length of one of the edges.

    Area = 4.828427*t^2

    s = side (s*2.41421356238)^2 - (s^2) i messed around with the numbers for a minute and i think this formula might work... can any one verify that this works or have i come up with another one that does not work??? please help

    (3*s)^2 - 4((s/2)*s) for an equal sided, s = side lenth
