I was appointed as my father's agent in his statutory durable power of attorney when he made his will in 2005. Now 91 and sick, he has become mentally incapable of managing his financial affairs or caring for himself. How do I invoke this POA?

In the exact same circumstance, I asked his doctor for a letter declaring him incompetent. I got this and so attached copies of that to certified copies of the PoA documents. These I delivered to all approprate sources and have them available for when I need them. Good for you and your father for planning ahead so sensibly. Wish everyone would do so. -
