What does it mean when my computer just recovered from a serious error?

    Well, if you didn't see the blue screen of death (a blue screen with a hexidecimal error code), then it usually means that a process froze, there was an I/O conflict, or a deadlock, etc and your computer recovered from it. It may have killed the process or whatever, but you can continue to work without a reboot.

    Perform a checkdisk just to be on the safeside.
