Have the polls during mid-term elections ever been wrong? Or have they been a pretty consistent forcaster of coming elections? I'm speaking, of course, of polls over all. Not just any individual poll.

Polls frequently favor the candidates favored by the pollster. In this year's American election, which was supposed to be a Democrat tsunami, don't bet the farm that they were right.

They are biased so I wouldn't count on them to be anywhere close to accurate.
