A drunk anyone who carries a gun scares me..I think if a policeman is found to be an alcoholic and gets wasted regularly on his off hours, he/she has no business being a policeman/woman. A "sabbatical" would be in order for a year or so to dry out/get clean/sober. A police officer has authority to carry a gun and use it..an alcoholic doesn't haven't control of his/her thought processes so he/she would be a dangerous loose cannon! :(
