In what country and in what state/province/territory? In most of North America it's 18. In most of Japan, it's 14. In some places, age isn't a restriction at all.

sex isnt exactly illegal. at least not in the u.s. anyway. and each state has different laws. if you are 16 years old but younger than 18, the person you have sex with needs to be at least 10 years older than you for it to be illegal, and it doesnt matter if you agreed to it. if you are under 16 and the person is over 18 it is illegal. i know this because i got pregnant at 15 and my boyfriend was 17, my guardian at the time tried to press charges against my boyfriend (statutory rape) but obviously couldnt because he had not violated any of the laws.
