  • Before I had children to think about I wouldn't give them money. I'd take them to get food, though.
  • I dont give money to anyone on the street. the reason being that I dont trust the person is going to buy food or things they need. I prefer to give my money to organizations that help people who seek it from them.
  • Yeah, if I had some change or something I would throw the guy some money. If he wants to buy more beer, hey, that's his decision. Won't stop me from trying to help a guy out.
  • I might not give him cash, however, if I had any food in the diaper bag I would give it too him. Or I might drive to the nearest fast food place, buy the healthiest meal they had and double back to give it to him. I was on my way home from a doctor's visit with my child once, and since I was headed home I pulled in and gave her uneaten snacks to a homeless man with a sign. He was so delighted to get grapes I was almost embarrassed. He said they were his absolute favorite and he hadn't had any in a long time. You aren't exactly welcome in a grocery store looking like he did and with no money. You don't have cold storage for a whole bag when you are homeless. I guess not many people think to give fresh fruit to a homeless person.
  • Yeah, I would... Here there are never signs, i've never seen ahomeles guy with a sign in my life (except on tv.) But I'll give the guy change if I had any that I didn't need... Who am I to judge what he spends his cash on, once the money is in his hand, it's his to do with what he will (i hope.)
  • no I would not, I also didnt give any money to the one I seen holding a "please help" sign while talking on his cell phone.
  • As far as the beer box goes, real homeless people would scrounge whatever they could find. Beer boxes provide a fairly large space to write on, large enough that most people can read. As for the cigarette, many will scrounge butts from ash trays, or tossed from a passing car. OR, who's to say someone didn't give him a few, or even a pack? Never judge a book my it's cover.
