  • They're into cutting. http://wis.dm/scenes/1-yes-and-know/questions/37760-do-you-wish-your-lawn-was-emo-so-it-would-cut-itself
  • What is really important is what YOU think, what makes you happy and fulfilled in life.
  • What do I really think... I like most of the music, most of the clothes, yadda yadda, but I think a solid 50%-85% of people that engage in the lifestyles are bullshitters who like to pretend they're depressed to get attention or to fit in with the "scene." Everybody wants to think that nobody understands them, and that's just crap. I'm fine with people are that "emo," not fine with people that pretend to be. I was into it in 8th grade and 10th, but I had been depressed for a long time, had some problems, was into a drug scene and I just saw all these people that didn't have any fucking problems of their own pretending that they knew what it was like to be down or that they could relate to the music genre, and it was just like give me a break. get over yourself.
  • The music venue in Austin, TX? I've never been, but my brother loves it. He hung out with David Bazan from Pedro the Lion playing pinball there.
  • They'll grow out of it.
  • They'll run out of blood soon enough.
  • Some are cute, others try too hard.
  • They are a quite comical. And I think it's funny you put this in Thrifty living lol.
  • Attention seekers
  • I don't. It's a stereotype that is used way too much these days, and for all the wrong reasons.
  • Depends...it's just another piece of the pie that is them...which is the sum of what they are and what they are trying to represent. For some, behaving emo fits and it adds to their charachter, for other it just makes them sheeptards...subculture sheep, but still sheeptards.
  • There are worse things they could be into such as gangsta garbage, be it joining a gang or idolizing gangs. If they cut for attention (I know that not all do) that is not very bright but nowhere near as stupid as being into gangs and gangsta. I think that they try to express how non-conformist they are... just like every other person into emo or any other fad. All in all it is a fad that is a lesser evil.
