  • i'm a vegetarian as well, and can't stand soy. actually i think the proper term is pescatarian (i eat fish occasionally). anyways... protein: nuts (especially peanuts), milk, cheese, and eggs (if you are not a vegan), beans, grains. if you find you still can't get enough protein, try a supplement or shake.
  • There are lots of non-meat, non-soy sources of protein... here are some: (from http://www.theveggietable.com/articles/protein.html) Amaranth Cereals and grains - buckwheat, rye, corn, rice, pasta... Leafy green vegetables, including spinach Legumes - beans, lentils, peas, peanuts Nutritional yeast Nuts - almonds, walnuts, cashews... Quinoa Seaweed - spirulina, kelp ... Seeds - hemp, sesame, sunflower... Vegetables - Brussel sprouts, potatoes, yuca
  • You can also take protein pills or drink a protein shake, if you're really worried about it. On Whey Protein has like 23 grams of protein per shake and is very low on cholesterol. Plus it tastes pretty good. =)
  • yeah... i got hauled by my folks into a mickey d's a few weeks ago... i was looking at them like they were crazy or something. at least my mom consistantly makes fish when i come over to visit, but fast food fish... kinda makes me want to hurl.
