Only when I am fairly confident of an answer and want to confirm the reliability of what I am writing. Of course, Wiki isn't 100% reliable, but I'm usually just needing to confirm info. I try to not write on topics that I have no background at all in, especially educational. So, the times I actually do my research is basically just me trying to be helpful and reteach myself something I knew once upon a time :-)
