IF there is a blacksmith in the area, maybe you could make an appointment for a tour of the shop and talk things over about voluneering one or two days each week. If the local police force has an equestrian patrol, perhaps you could make arrangements with that person to chat aobut your ambitions. You might "have to go through the necessary channels", but if it's important enough to you, don't you think it's worth the effort? I don't know anything about the weather or laws in AZ, but perhaps some of these could help you earn some extra money. Just about everyone works to earn money. 1] Some work smarter than others. 2] Some work harder than others. 3] Some physically work. 4] Others mentally work. 5] Others use combinations of what I stated 6] And then there are those who THINK they can “pull a fast one” and “get over on the boss”. BUT we KNOW they are only fooling themselves, don’t we? Sooner or later each of those idiots gets caught “with a hand (or two) in the cookie jar”, don’t they? NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE DOING OR WHERE YOU GO, ALWAYS LET AN ADULT YOU KNOW, KNOW WHERE YOU ARE & WHAT YOU ARE DOING! 1] Doing errands for those who aren’t able to do for themselves. Go to the store, getting something from a neighbor, etc. 2] Doing chores for your neighbors: Sweeping floors, Doing light cleaning, Dusting, etc. 3] Cutting grass. 4] Raking leaves. 5] Shoveling snow and ice from sidewalks, steps, driveways, carports, etc. 6] Cleaning up yards. 7] WITHOUT expecting any “pay” from parents, relatives, etc., doing chores around home or their business. Honestly, YOU DON’T ASK, “How much are you going to pay me?” OR YOU DON’T ASK, “How much am I getting paid?” Why? Because you live there & that wonderful person is giving you a home, clothes, food & giving you the opportunity to use a computer to ask your question & other things, right? 8] Collecting old newspapers and recycling them. Before doing this or any of the following, check with an adult. 9] If your area wants a deposit for glass bottles, plastic bottles and/or aluminum cans, collecting these and returning them back for the deposit. 10] Have a garage sale or a yard sale of the things you don’t need, want or use anymore. 11] Look into getting a paper route. YES, you get paid money, BUT you do not get to keep & spend all that money. You MUST pay for those newspapers you deliver. Each and every time someone gives you money, DO the following. This is all part of budgeting and managing your money. When you take proper care of and properly manage your money, your money should take care of you. I’ll use $10. A] Give 10% or $1 to your favorite charity. Give it to your church, temple or mosque. If you don’t have a favorite charity, talk with your parents or relatives about charity. This is extremely important. When you give to and for others, you get back many times than you give. It doesn’t happen “overnight” or right away, BUT IT HAPPENS. DO IT! B] Put 10% or $1 into a savings account for yourself. Please don’t touch this money. Let money “grow” by earning interest & providing you with more money. C] Spend 10% or $1 on yourself. Why? You worked for it, you earned it. You deserve it. This could go toward whatever you want. D] 35% or $3.50 put aside to pay your taxes. If you aren’t paying them now, you’ll pay them soon. E] 25% or $2.50 you should use E1] for your gas, oil & upkeep for your lawnmower; tools you’ll need, etc. E2] snacks, soda/pop or water to drink or eat while babysitting or working. E3] Getting the insurance you’ll find you MUST have & cannot do without. F] 10% or $1 for a “rainy day”. It doesn't matter what the amount of money is, the percentages stay the same. Suggestion: THE FOLLOWING IS NOT SPAM. I don’t know this man. I’m not connected to him in any way. You should invest in a copy “The Richest Man in Babylon” by George S. Classon. It's easy to read and follow. You can write in it. Just read five [5] pages of this book - or any book - each & every day. OR Ignore it. & let it collect dust. Suggestion: Journal every day on the computer. What you learned & were taught. What to do & not do.
