Help answer this question below.

My son spilt water on his keyboard on his laptop we dried it out and after it making a lot of funny noises it is now silent and boots up but brings up the log on screen. we enter the user name and password but keeps saying user name and password incorrect

    It sounds like the hard drive wiped out your son's user profile. If the administrator account is still present and working, you can log on using that and create a new account for your son. If it's not working, then you can take the hard drive out and plug it into a desktop computer using an adapter, transfer any needed data off, then put the hard drive back in the laptop and format the drive and set it all up again before transferring the data back onto it.
