If one player is unable to hit due to the other player being in the way, it is a hinder and the point is usually replayed. Is is mandatory that you do everything possible to clear out and let your opponent hit - even if it means retreating into a corner or hugging the wall. If you do not do this, either deliberately or accidentally (moving the wrong way, for instance) the play is an "avoidable hinder" and the player interfered with wins the point.

In racquetball a interference is called a hender. Most times players will ask there opponent if they were in there way when they tried to hit the ball. Other times you play people that wont admit to any fault. But a hender consists of being in the persons way to where they cant make the hit they were wanting to make. Usually they have to adjust to hit the ball because you are "hendering" there ability to hit the ball the way they intended. A three foot circle around the player is usually a good rule of thumb. If you feel that you were interfered with just say hender and the point is replayed. Its also a hender when the ball is served and doesnt clear the server by more then 18 inches. That is called a screen.
