  • I certainly hope it happens in mine.
  • It's pretty much legal in California all you need is a $100 bill and any doctor will get you a license to smoke and grow.
  • the trend in the u.s. is just the opposite direction...since the reagan era, the country has become more and more socialist (controlling)...and since the feds are the ones now who control the legality of all drugs (which started under reagan), we will likely never see it become legal, unless and until people start voting libertarian instead of democrat or republican... when i was in high school, in the state of ohio, pot was decriminalized...you could carry any amount up to a quarter-pound in one bag...otherwise it was intent to distribute...anything over a q/p was also considered intent to sell...so if you were caught with a q/p or less (in one bag) it was a fine and your pot was confiscated...no jail time, no criminal record...the reagan administration made sure we could not have that freedom in ohio, or anywhere in the good ol' us of a... it's unlikely we will smoke legally here ever again...hell, i can't even smoke cigarettes in my own home in ohio if i do business out of my house (during business hours)...and thanks to the reagan administration, all the feds have to do now is add tobacco to the list of banned drugs, and it's illegal too... i think a better question would be, "how long do you think it will be until we lose the right to smoke tobacco legally, just as we lost the right to smoke pot, and damn near every freedom i once had in my lifetime, here in this country"...
  • I don't think marijuana will ever be legal.
  • Move to a FREE country such as Holland and it is legal.
  • In 1974 if you had told me that marijuana would still be illegal in 2008 I would have thought you were nuts
  • i dont know but i cant wait
  • Only if we all help! If you would like to speed it up go to MPP.ORG and write a letter to your congress man. There are plenty of things on there that you can do to help!
  • When they figure out a way to control and tax it.
  • When "they" come to their senses.
  • they already have it can be percribed
  • Never. Pure eugenics & profits. Big corporations & governments make more money with ilegal drugs and they prefer people to die of "other than natural causes". All drugs should be legal. No exceptions. My 2 cents.
  • looking at it logicly, no marijuana will not be legal in this country, unless we get some sort of stoner congressman who fights for us on the inside!
  • Just a minute let me get my crystal ball... The clouds are clearing... wait, I see a joint... The spirit is inhaling deeply, he looks calm, relaxed, he says It's cool, just don't bug me now I got these chicks coming round soon I'll get back to you later Peace, man

  • Yeah, if Jack Herer runs for President again and all potheads unite and agree to vote for him.
  • It can happen in your lifetime, but not if we sit and ask "when will it happen?" We must instead ask "what can I do to make it happen?" Get involved, make it happen. NORML.org
  • Laws vary world wide ... in some places it is already legal, in some places simple possession has been decriminalized, in other places it is illegal and has a wide range of punishments ranging from a small fine, to very long prison sentences, to execution. It will become legal in your area of the world as soon as your government decides to make it legal. If you want that to happen, then support a type of government that also supports such a change.
  • I think that when the generation that was heavily exposed to the propaganda dies out it will have a good chance of becoming legal. The government would need to reclassify and reeducate people with misconceptions about the drug which would they would be dropping a lot of cash up front. They will not take the initiative when such a high financial cost would ensue. There needs to be a movement first.
  • Does it really matter? legal or illegall people are going to get it one way or the other.
  • I think it will be legal, but whether it will be in your lifetime will depend on how long you live. As to whether it will be a good thing or not, I'm not sure. I don't really believe that the government has an business stopping up from smoking whatever we want. But I also think that legalized marijuana will cause an even greater rift between rich and poor, and cause an upswing in homelessness and drug use. It'll just be more legal.
  • we can only hope
  • they all ready found a way to tax weed. they have a stamp sytem. u would pay a 5$ stamp that gets you an 8th of an oz. and 50$ for every plant you grow.(if you want to) we are very close to legalize weed. it could be 2010 or sooner.
  • It will be in Canada in a few years
  • Marijuana will become legal in America on December 21, 2012. :-)
  • it will probably but who can say anything for sure. all the answers your going to get is just people giving you their personal opinion. my opinion i know is shared with many people although. the tax and regulation of our beloved plant would create so many more jobs that it ever could trying to prevent it. everyone knows this pointless war on drugs hasnt made any progress except for going downhill.if mary jane is legalized or decriminalized its not going to have this like HUGE result on our country. the people who smoke will keep smoking and the people who dont...wont. like shwarzenegger was saying its time for this debate on cannabis laws. idk how old you are..so mayb not. im 17 im sure it will happen in my lifetime. if it doesnt it wont change my lifestyle, still going to smoke when ever i want cuz this is my life. so til then say FUCK you government and keep burning
