Help answer this question below.
Hairy armpits are a turn-off, period. They harbor bacteria and thus smell worse than their shaven counterparts on men or women.
I actually happen to be a beautiful young woman with hairy armpits.
If I shave or wax, when the hair grows back it's a fucking bitch. My skin is just very thick or something, I don't know how to explain, but the hair has a hard time coming through to the surface. Red bumps form on my skin where the hair is trying to come out because the skin gets so irritated. The bumps hurt and itch. Oftentimes I will end up with ingrown hairs, or when I shave over the bumps I will end up bleeding. If anybody has any advice about how to make skin less irritated by the re-growth of hair, you just let me know.
But I've just given up and decided to be hairy. And I like it better. I think it's cleaner. My skin is healthy now, that seems more hygienic to me. My armpits are not any smellier than normal. I just wear deoderant and it's cool.
People judge me for it, because people can be so shallow.
But I am still totally hot anyhow and this hairy thing is just something you gotta learn to love about me.
Yes. We've been conditioned in our society to reject a lot of things that are just natural. I think we Americans dislike it because shaved armpits seem they would be more sanitary and hold less odor.
Definitely a big turnoff.
No. Big turn-on. Someone was saying that 'eww... there's bacteria'. To this person i say not all bacteria are bad... as a matter of fact, maybe if you weren't so scared of bacteria, you might be a healthier person for it and not be sick 4 times a year.
The biggest reason hairy armpits are sexy is that the hair traps the feromones that are emited from the armpit. (why i love hairy pussy too... more entoxicating aroma).
I turn into an animal with a girl with hairy armpits... just one little sniff.
No. It wouldn't bother me.
Oh MY!!...
that is digusting
i saw one before and it looked like she had rats under her arms...
*taps shoulder ugh.. excuse me miss i think u have rats under ur.... *realizes its armpit hair
...o.O i mean nothing
No not at all, don't understand people at all. We love hair on our heads, and women naturally grow armpit hair, its not dirty, and smelling come from not washing, not hair. Soon we'll want totally bals people like plastic dolls! This had nothing to do with hygiene. But more with being conditioned to beleive something without thinking, which is sadly too common
I rather like them. :)
in my opinion it is really gross. i dont like body hair at all though. so yeah. gross. HUGE TURNOFF!
No!!They're Sexy!!!

Gross...yes.
nahh alot of men love hairy pits
their definately HOT!
Yes.
Yep, and so's a moustache
if it was real short and remained like peach fuzzy soft then no, but jungle jane had better go take care of them thangs if she wants to slow dance
Definitely not. :)
Yes, yes they are.
Massive turn off I'm afraid
No. They're a big turn-on. I love a woman who's confident about her body and lets the hair grow naturally. (That's not to say others aren't confident; personal preference also plays a role.)
No.
Most people are conditioned, ever since they're little, to think that it's gross, though.
I think it is an oddity and therefore something that one might enjoy staring at? It is a form of interest I suppose? But positive or negative is up to the observer.
I dont care for it, but I think that people who do it are rather interesting.
No but I am a woman and I dont get turned on by women one way or the other.
Yes
absolutely
I'm a female and not into woman but it's nasty to see hairy armpits!
Its interesting that even though folks know that they have been conditioned to beleive something, true or not(in this case hairy armpits are dirty) they still embrace the lie. They just don't care to change. This maybe a clue as to why the world is at odds, and we can't stop fighting! Well back to armpits and style. I wonder just how much effort we as humans are willing to try to change ourselves from what we really are. Will women start to shave their heads, it would be cleaner!
doesn't bother me in the least. Hardly ever see it though.
yes--hairy legs too. I am a hetrosexual female so my issue is that it just comes across as poor hygiene, even tho I know that is not necessarily true. In many European countries, underarm and leg hair are the norm. So, to each her own....
Very gross. I hate any kind of body hair.
Yes.
No...they have no effect on how attracted i would be to her....
No. Scabby, raw, infected from being badly shaven or waxed and unwashed armpits are a turnoff.
Shaved armpits are for fashion/vanity purposes. If you find well groomed women more attractive compared to natural looking women, that is a product of the current grooming fashion trends and nothing to do with what actually turns you on.
Shaved armpits are no more hygeinic than unshaved ones if you clean them as regularly. I would like to see a controlled scientific experiment prove that wrong before I start to believe the pseudoscience that beauty companies peddle, not because I believe that it is more hygienic, in fact I find that they stink more after exercise when they have been freshly shaved.
I shave my armpits because I agree that they look nicer with sleeveless tops of the current fashion etc and because my S/O prefers it if I do.
Besides, have any of you guys tried armpit wanking with an unshaved armpit, compared to a shaved one. Try that before you make up your mind properly on which is more of a turn off for you.
If it is neatly kept in ponytails, I am not turned off.
Hell yeah
I think it's sexist to say that hairy armpits on women are a turn-off.
yes...
Yes.
I'm a heterosexual female, but I think it's disgusting. Kind of funny that it's the natural way we were designed to look, but so much social conditioning makes me repulsed at the idea--even though I hate to shave!
No, not really. But then I'm a woman so I don't look for it. I like hairy armpits on men. My boyfriend has really fluffy pits.
I only think hairy pits are nasty when their owner doesn't wash the hair and it smells of B.O. Some people with shaved pits also have B.O. and shaving can cause abscesses under the arms.
I think we have been conditioned in Western society to dislike hair as maybe it reminds us too much of monkeys and apes.
Not really.
You know in some way id say no, the idea of making love to a hairy woman is getting me turned on.
I've never experienced that but I could imagine it would be!!!
yes absolutely..a big turnoff!
Yes
Yes.
For sure. And I'm a girl! I knew a gal in college who didn't shave her pits. She thought she was so cool because she was a neo-hippie vegan pothead. Even though I thought she was cool myself I could never see past her hairy, smelly armpits.
"Is the Sun hot?"
Yes, it does turn me and the 99.9999% other of men off.
on a woman it just seems...well, nasty
razors were invented for a reason, and it doesnt really take long....
Good grief, yes!
Hairy armpits are a turnoff for anybody! I shave mine regularly!

Only if they aren't kept clean.

NOt so. The bacteria are never totally killed (even the most powerful antibacterials only claim to get 99% and THAT's an exaggeration) and survive on the hair shafts. That's why folks with hairy underarms develop body odor more quickly than those without. Sure, everything smells fresh for the first hours, but add some heat from exercise or movement and some drops of moisture (perspiration) and the bacteria blossoms! This is true about hair that is enclosed anywhere on the human body, not just the pits, although the pits are more susceptible to moisture and heat.

That's mostly bs really.
by Tenaciouscj on October 17th, 2008
It is bs. 100% of your body is covered with bacteria at all times. People panic so much about bacteria but it is everywhere!
I would love to see these people take a swab test on a shaved underarm 2 hours after showering and compare the microbial cultures to an unshaved underarm subjected to the same conditions in a controlled experiment. Rather than believing the pseudoscience that these beauty product companies peddle to the media.

Shaved armpits must be germy because otherwise why would some people get infections in the tiny nicks that nearly always occur?
by Tenaciouscj on March 14th, 2009
@tenacious. Of course! Every area of the body is "germy" whether they are hairy or not!
